About Career Discoveries

Career Discoveries Day, features Santa Fe College students and local business professionals in the following industry sectors: education, health sciences, construction and technical, business, information technology education, digital media and graphic design technology, the institute of public safety, and emerging technologies. Each industry sector has a speaker who presents emerging career opportunities in his/her industry to entice students to attend his/her breakout session. Each breakout session then features a panel of peer business owners, Santa Fe College students, and professionals who discuss career pathways for each targeted industries (identified above), share their stories of success and answer questions from the students.

2017 Career Discoveries

The third annual Career Discoveries Day was held on November 4, 2017, from 9 am to 1 pm at Buchholz High School located at 5510 Northwest 27th Avenue Gainesville, FL 32606.

2015 Career Discoveries

The Gainesville Area Chamber of Commerce’s Talent Alignment and Education committee hosted a 3-hour workshop to inform students and parents about emerging career opportunities in the region. Career Discoveries took place on Saturday, Oct. 17 from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. at the Professional Academy Magnet at Loften High School, 3000 E. University Ave.
