The Gainesville Area Chamber of Commerce’s Talent Alignment and Education committee hosted a 3-hour workshop to inform students and parents about emerging career opportunities in the region. Career Discoveries took place on Saturday, Oct. 17 from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. at the Professional Academy Magnet at Loften High School, 3000 E. University Ave.

Career Discoveries, sponsored by Domino’s, features local business professionals within the following industries: advanced manufacturing, technology/IT software, life sciences, healthcare, agriculture, and logistics. During the opening session, each speaker had an opportunity to pitch careers in his/her industry to entice students to their breakout session. The breakout sessions covered career pathways in the industries identified above and feature a panel of business owners and professionals who shared their story and answered questions.
